If you’re experiencing these problems. Hi it’s Michael Ricchiuto MPT, EMT-P from Physical Therapy Now. If you’re continuing to watch this video, then you’re looking for some ideas to help strengthen your knee..
Now here’s the problem. There’s no way to strengthen your knees without having total body strength. A lot of our clients just want to strengthen one part of their body, and they just can’t do it, especially the knees.
Many factors play a game here. You have to have hydration, proper nutrition and the right loading onto your knee so that you don’t become injured. Now let’s take a look at three exercises that we like for total body strength to help strengthen the knee.
If you have any specific questions about your knee, then click here for a 30 minute free phone consultation.
The first exercise is a squat. The squat is a great way to increase the strength of a knee, and also the hips, low back complex, the ankles, and upper body. It’s just a fantastic way to functionally improve your strength.
The next exercise we have is a dead lift. Dead lifting is another full body exercise a closed-chain exercise where you’re not only strengthening the knees, but also low back, ankles, hips, upper body.Fantastic exercise!
The last exercise that we have is a step down. Step down is a great way to build unilateral strength, meaning one leg at a time. Make sure that they’re even and also to build balance and what we call proprioception.
The brain’s way to establish whether or not the knee is in place or not Well, there you have it. There are three of our favorite any strengthening exercises that involve total body strengthening as well.
