A common misconception about improving your golf game is that technique is everything. Unfortunately technique is more fun to change then “physique”.
Changing your physiology does not mean that you have to spend countless hours at the gym but you will have to spend time improving the flexibility and strength of your body.
Often, the true way to improve your score is to improve your body, to improve your skill, and of course, practice. There are many ways to improve your strength, flexibility, and balance but you will have to remember that everyone is built differently and will respond differently to their individualized needs.
These imbalances are easily detected by a physical therapist. In this video Dr. Kevin David DPT, golf specialist and 2016 physical therapist to the U.S. Open at Oakmont explains how flexibility is key to improving your score.
If you are interested in learning the other two flexibility exercises to improve your total body range of motion so that you can drive the ball farther consider coming to our Free Ultimate Golfer’s Workshop on May 1oth at 6:30pm if there is still room.
